The image showcases Govier's photographic van parked by an enchanting, unidentified cottage nestled amidst the picturesque landscape of West Cornwall. In those early years, before establishing his studios in Chacewater and St Agnes, Govier would travel on his bicycle or rely on a horse-drawn van to reach various locations for his photography endeavors. This particular scene showcases his father, Samuel Govier, standing proudly at the doorway of the van alongside their loyal canine companion.
