This print showcases a vintage rectangular counter card for No. 3 Cigarettes, dating back to 1933. The card exudes an air of elegance with its slightly padded metal frame and glossy finish. Against a striking black background, the eye is immediately drawn to the vibrant flame red lilies displayed in a delicate porcelain vase adorned with a Chinese dragon motif. Adding to the charm, a porcelain statuette of a parrot stands beside the vase, creating an intriguing juxtaposition. In the bottom left corner of the image, an open pack of No. 3 cigarettes rests prominently, emphasizing their presence as the focal point of this advertisement. The text boldly declares "PLAYERs No. 3 // THE // EXTRA // QUALITY // CIGARETTE" reinforcing their superior reputation among smokers. Turning our attention to the reverse side of this remarkable piece, we discover a support that allows it to stand upright and even features a hanging loop for versatile display options. Curiously enough, there is also a handwritten note on this support which reads "Not Bronze" hinting at some unknown history or backstory behind this particular item. Preserving remnants from its past life as an advertising tool, we can observe faint traces of what appears to be circular rubber stamp impressions in the top left corner—possibly proof stamps from Mardon, Son and Hall—a testament to its authenticity. This photograph encapsulates not only Nottingham's rich heritage but also highlights elements such as flowers and tobacco that have played significant
