She described her job as being ‘similar to that of a hostess, giving help, support and information to travellers. Vera quickly made a name for herself and received many thank you letters from passengers and featured in numerous newspaper articles. She even wrote a feature about her first six months as a Rail Travel Advisor for the Western Region News
