In this historic photograph taken in 1912, we find ourselves at the Woman Suffrage Headquarters located on Upper Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. The trio of influential women gathered in front of the building include, from extreme right, Miss Belle Sherwin, President of the National League of Women Voters; Judge Florence E. Allen, holding the flag; and Mrs. Malcolm McBride. Miss Belle Sherwin, a dedicated suffragist and social reformer, led the National League of Women Voters during a pivotal time in the women's suffrage movement. Her tireless efforts and advocacy helped to expand the organization's reach and influence. Judge Florence E. Allen, an accomplished lawyer and the first woman to be elected to the Ohio Supreme Court, stands proudly holding the suffrage flag. Her presence at the headquarters underscores the importance of women's legal rights and representation in government. Mrs. Malcolm McBride, an active member of the suffrage movement, is also seen in the photograph. Her involvement in the cause demonstrates the widespread support for women's right to vote and the determination of women to make their voices heard. This photograph serves as a powerful reminder of the collective efforts and determination of these women and countless others who fought for women's suffrage in the United States. The Woman Suffrage Headquarters on Upper Euclid Avenue in Cleveland played a crucial role in the movement, providing a central hub for organizing, advocacy, and activism.
