Originally designed by Edward Harnor and Frederick Pinches and built between 1894-1897, this magnificent building has stood the test of time. The front elevation of the leisure centre showcases its Victorian charm with intricate architectural details. Once a hub for swimming enthusiasts, the main pool was initially designated as a first-class facility for men, also referred to as Kings Pool. Over time, renovations transformed the second-class men's pool into a vibrant dance studio and fitness suite while the ladies' pool became a versatile sports hall. Despite various alterations throughout its existence, many original features have been preserved within these walls. This print is not just an image; it tells a story of community engagement and physical well-being through sport and recreation. The grey hues evoke nostalgia while emphasizing the timeless beauty of this historic landmark.
