With a great ceremony held in Agordat, the courageous Brigadier of the Carabinieri Gennaro Ventura, who on 23 March was distinguished in a border accident, was decorated with a silver medal with the following motivation, On night surveillance with a Basci Buluc, near Om Hager (Eritrea), who met with a strong group of Abyssinian armed men who had, with obvious criminal intentions, After crossing the border of our Colony, he resolutely faced them, telling them to surrender. Marked by a sudden volley that knocked down the Buluc Basci, he responded, calmly and precisely, valiantly to the fire, hitting various opponents, who, seeing their leader left on the ground fall, they were fleeing the violated border, abandoning weapons and ammunition.
