Their Majesties in Cheshire. The King and Queen today made a 30 mile drive through

Their Majesties in Cheshire.
The King and Queen today made a 30 mile drive through some of the most thickly populated areas of Cheshire. Alighting from the Royal Train at Stalybridge, where the station was decorated with a profusion of flowers. Their Majesties drove through streets lined with cheering crowds to Dukinfield, Hyde, Bredbury, Hazel Grove, Wilmslow, Hale and Altrincham, where, at the Churchill Tool Cos factory, a number of prominent local people were presented to them. After lunch, their Majesties continued their tour to Chester.
Picture shows, the man who made the King and Queen laugh. Mr Granville Barlow, 82 years old, who has worked for the Churchill Tool Company at Altrincham for 63 years, tells their Majesties that he has never had a holiday, but has a day or two off now and then.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we catch a glimpse of a heartwarming moment between Their Majesties and an elderly man named Mr. Granville Barlow. The King and Queen embarked on a 30-mile drive through the bustling streets of Cheshire, surrounded by cheering crowds and adorned with flowers at every turn. After arriving at Stalybridge via the Royal Train, the royal couple made their way to various towns including Dukinfield, Hyde, Bredbury, Hazel Grove, Wilmslow, Hale, and Altrincham. At the Churchill Tool Cos factory in Altrincham, Mr. Barlow had the honor of meeting Their Majesties. At 82 years old and having dedicated an incredible 63 years of his life to working for the company, Mr. Barlow shared a lighthearted moment with the King and Queen that brought laughter to all present. Despite never having taken a proper holiday throughout his long career, he confessed to occasionally enjoying a day or two off. This photograph captures not only the joyous encounter between royalty and an ordinary worker but also serves as a poignant reminder of resilience during challenging times in post-war Britain. Preserved in monochrome tones from July 17th in 1946 by TopFoto. co. uk. , this image encapsulates both history's significance and timeless human connection beyond commercial use.
