Zanamivir flu drug, molecular model C016 / 5799

Zanamivir flu drug, molecular model. Zanamivir is an antiviral drug (commonly known by its trade name Relenza). It is administered in spray form for inhalation, and reduces the length of an attack of influenza (flu) if taken early in the course of the disease. It works by blocking the enzyme neuraminidase, which is found on the surface of the influenza virus. The molecular formula is C12.H20.N4.O7. Atoms are represented as spheres and are colour-coded: carbon (white), hydrogen (white), nitrogen (blue) and oxygen (red)

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the molecular model of Zanamivir, a powerful antiviral drug commonly known as Relenza. The structure is beautifully illustrated against a pristine white background, allowing every detail to stand out vividly. Represented by spheres in various colors, each atom plays a crucial role in this potent medication's composition. Zanamivir is administered through inhalation via spray form and has proven effective in reducing the duration of influenza attacks when taken early during the course of the disease. Its mechanism revolves around blocking neuraminidase, an enzyme found on the surface of the influenza virus. By inhibiting this vital component, Zanamivir hinders viral replication and helps alleviate symptoms associated with flu. The molecular formula C12. H20. N4. O7 further emphasizes its intricate chemical structure and highlights its pharmacological significance. This artwork not only captures the essence of pharmaceutical science but also serves as a visual representation of cutting-edge advancements in medical research. With its tubular shape and precise bonds between atoms, this image embodies both biochemical complexity and therapeutic potential. It stands as a testament to how scientific innovation can combat infectious diseases like influenza while providing valuable insights into molecular biology and pharmacology. Captured by RAMON ANDRADE 3DCIENCIA/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY, this stunning print offers an artistic perspective on Zanamivir's structural beauty without mentioning any commercial use or specific company affiliation.
