Vladimir Aleksandrovich Kotelnikov (1908-2005), Soviet engineer. Kotelnikov, a member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, specialized in radio technology and information theory. His most famous work was the independent discovery of the sampling theorem, an important theorem for optimising signal transmissions.
