EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the striking comparison between an adult Pentaceratops dinosaur and a modern adult White Rhinoceros. The artwork transports us back 75 million years ago during the Cretaceous period, offering a glimpse into Earth's prehistoric past. Standing tall at around 2.5 meters shoulder height and weighing approximately 6000 kilograms, the Pentaceratops is a magnificent example of a horned, beaked cerapod (ceratopsian). This herbivorous creature features an impressive neck frill that adds to its unique appearance. In contrast, the White Rhinoceros stands at about 1.8 meters shoulder height and weighs around 3200 kilograms in our present time. The image beautifully captures these two creatures side by side on a white background, allowing us to appreciate their size difference and evolutionary journey. The artwork not only highlights the diversity of life throughout history but also emphasizes the remarkable adaptations that have occurred over millions of years. It serves as a reminder of how different species have evolved to thrive in their respective environments. Walter Myers' illustration provides an opportunity for scientific exploration and appreciation for both paleontology and zoology enthusiasts alike. Through this stunning piece, we are transported into a world where dinosaurs roamed alongside modern-day mammals—a testament to Earth's ever-changing natural history.
