Hydroelectric power station, Scotland
Hydroelectric power station, Scotland. This is the Errochty hydroelectric power station. It is part of the Tummel hydroelectric power scheme, which consists of a series of nine hydroelectric power stations on lochs throughout the Tummel valley in Scotland. The area receives heavy rainfall, which flows down the valley and through the power stations, driving turbines that generate electricity. The Errochty power station, near Loch Errochty, is the most powerful in the scheme, and can generate 75 megawatts of power. The power stations in Tummel were built between 1930 and 1962.
