Richard Ford Lambart, the seventh Earl of Cavan, was a distinguished British military commander during the Napoleonic Wars. Born in 1763, Earl Cavan hailed from an ancient Irish noble family with a long history of military service. He joined the British Army in 1779 and quickly rose through the ranks, serving in various campaigns against the American Revolutionaries and the French Revolutionaries in Europe.
