Cunard Line, QE2 turbine blade limited edition
Cunard Line, QE2 turbine blade. In 1986 the Queen Elizabeth 2 underwent a £90 million refit that marked the end of her life as a steamship as her turbine engines were replaced by a diesel electric system. This turbine blade was one of a number saved from the ship and sold in 2008 as a limited edition of 27. It comes from the low pressure, largest diameter units, with a radius of 20 inches, and made from nickel chrome stainless steel with a special leading edge insert of stellite (to resist the high temperature steam). It has been repolished to bright and mounted on a black painted oak base with red leather panel to match the Cunard colours. This is number 26 of 27, with a numbered certificate. Blade measures 20.5 x 4 inches. Date: late 20th century

EDITORS COMMENTS
This limited edition print showcases a historic turbine blade from the iconic Cunard Line's Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2), a symbol of luxury and elegance in the world of ocean travel. In 1986, the QE2 underwent a major £90 million refit, marking the end of her life as a steamship as her turbine engines were replaced with a diesel electric system. During this refit, a number of turbine blades were saved and sold as limited edition collectibles in 2008. This particular blade comes from the low pressure, largest diameter units, with a radius of 20 inches, and was made from nickel chrome stainless steel with a special leading edge insert of stellite to resist the high temperature steam. The blade has been carefully repolished to bring out its bright and vibrant appearance, and mounted on a black painted oak base with a red leather panel to match the Cunard colours. This is number 26 of only 27 blades produced, and comes with a numbered certificate. Measuring 20.5 x 4 inches, this collectible piece of maritime history is a must-have for any enthusiast or collector of Cunard, RMS, or Queen Elizabeth 2 memorabilia.
