This vintage photograph captures the charming facade of the Rising Sun Public House in St Mary Cray, Greater London, as it looked in the 1960s. The image, taken in 1961, shows the pub's right side in all its glory, with its red brick exterior and ornate signage bearing the iconic rising sun emblem. The pub, located at 56-58 Anglesea Road, was a beloved local establishment that was sadly demolished and redeveloped into houses around 1998. The back of the print reveals the pub's address, St Mary Cray, Greater London, BR5 4AW, and the date of the photograph. The Rising Sun was once a popular watering hole that was part of the Overton Brewery's extensive network of pubs. Although no longer in existence, this photograph serves as a nostalgic reminder of the history and character of this once-beloved local pub.
