This evocative photograph captures a moment in time as a group of Blackfoot Indians, also known as Niitsitapi or Blackfeet, make their way across a river in 1882. The Blackfoot people are a Native American tribe originally from the Great Plains of North America, with a rich cultural history centered around hunting, horseback riding, and warfare.
