Portrait after Samuel Lane of Anthony Brown, Chamberlain of the City of London:for upwards of 40 years has been a member of the Corporation, 23 years a magistrate, and served the office of Sheriff in 1825, and Lord Mayor in 1827. The worthy Alderman is a fluent and well-informed speaker, and has lately distinguished himself in the Court of Common Council by his vindication of the rights of the Livery.
