EDITORS COMMENTS
. This print captures a hand-coloured engraving from Luigi Ademollo's book "Restoration of the Human Race or Riproduzione del Genere Umano, Book I" based on Ovid's Metamorphoses. The engraving beautifully portrays the metamorphosis taking place before our eyes. As Deucalion throws his stones onto barren ground, they transform into men; while Pyrrha's stones become women. The vibrant hues bring life to this mythological tale that
