Flotilla of Boats Passing Westminster During Diamond Jubilee River Thames Pageant
A fleet of small vessels from the Sea Cadet Corps passes by Westminster Palace during the Queens Diamond Jubilee River Pageant.
Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh were onboard the Royal Barge, the Spirit of Chartwell with several other members of the Royal Family to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee at the River Pageant on the Thames River.
The Royal Barge was accompanied by the Royal Barge Honour Guard made up of two P2000 patrol boats, two picket boats, two rigid inflatable boats from HMS Diamond, and four Off-shore Raiding Craft from 539 Assault Squadron Royal Marines.
The Massed Bands of Her Majestys Royal Marines piped the boats down the river as they sailed behind the Royal Barge before Her Majesty The Queen was escorted by the First Sea Lord, Sir Mark Stanhope into HMS President, where the Royal Party then watched as the remaining boats sailed past.
Portsmouth-based Minehunter HMS Hurworth was the Royal Navys contribution to the Pageant while the Royal Naval Reserves formed a Guard of Honour and Colour party at HMS President to receive the Queen. This was the first time the Colour had been presented in the presence of the Queen since it was presented the year following her Golden Jubilee.
To round the whole pageant off, the Fleet Air Arm staged a flypast in a diamond formation over HMS President with nine Royal Navy helicopters led by a Second World War Swordfish

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the grandeur and significance of the Diamond Jubilee River Thames Pageant, a momentous event celebrating Queen Elizabeth II's 60-year reign. As a flotilla of boats passes by Westminster Palace, one cannot help but be in awe of the sheer magnitude and beauty of this historic occasion. At the heart of this procession is the Royal Barge, named Spirit of Chartwell, carrying Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh. Accompanied by members of the Royal Family, they symbolize unity and strength as they sail along the Thames River. The Royal Barge Honour Guard adds an air of majesty to this spectacle with their presence. Comprised of various vessels from HMS Diamond and 539 Assault Squadron Royal Marines, these brave men exemplify dedication to duty as they escort Her Majesty downriver. As if choreographed perfectly, the Massed Bands of Her Majestys Royal Marines serenade these passing boats with their melodious tunes. Their music fills the air as onlookers watch in admiration while witnessing history unfold before their eyes. Adding further prestige to this remarkable event is Portsmouth-based Minehunter HMS Hurworth representing the Royal Navy's contribution to this pageant. Meanwhile, at HMS President, a Guard of Honour formed by the Royal Naval Reserves awaits eagerly for Queen Elizabeth II's arrival. To conclude this unforgettable day on a high note, nine helicopters from Fleet Air Arm perform an impressive flypast over HMS President in a diamond formation - paying homage not only to her Diamond Jubilee but also commemorating Second World War heroes who fought valiantly for our freedom. This print encapsulates both pride and reverence towards our armed forces while immortalizing an extraordinary moment that will forever hold its place in British history.
