Ursus americanus kermode
Also known as Spirit or Ghost bear, the Kermode bear is a sub species of the American black bear and was named in the early 1900s after Frances Kermode. The result of a recessive gene in both parents, the bear is not an albino or polar bear. Found only in British Columbia, Canada, there are probably only 50-80 in existence, living mainly in the forests of Princess Royal Island.
